Who We Are //
Building a Community
To Reach a Community
We are a multicultural, multigenerational community of people desiring to be transformed by God. Together, we want to work for the good of our city and reach the world with the love of Jesus. Whether you’re just starting to ask questions about God, a committed follower of Christ, or somewhere in between, we are so glad you’re here.
Our Beliefs
God
There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Bible
We believe the Bible is uniquely God-inspired and without error in the original writings. It is the basis for our beliefs and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus is true God and true man. He lived a perfect life and died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins. He arose bodily from the dead.
People
All people have sin in their lives and need God’s forgiveness. Those who trust in Jesus Christ and Him alone for their salvation become true members of the body of Christ.
Holy Spirit
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.
Christ’s Return
At the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and the judgment. Those who have faith in Christ will enjoy eternal fellowship with God.

Membership
Affirming Your Commitment to this Local Church
We value participation in the life of the church. In some church traditions, membership is the first step into church life. At Blackhawk, membership isn’t an early step, and it’s not necessarily for everyone. It’s an option for you after becoming fully invested in the church through group involvement, serving, and giving. If you’ve been regularly attending Blackhawk for more than six months, have placed your faith in Christ, and are actively participating in any of our ministries – becoming a member might be the next step for you.
Our membership process is about affirming your commitment to current and future investment in Blackhawk Church. It involves an hour of homework and a one-hour class with other new members led by our staff and elders.
If you are highly invested with your time, talent, and resources you can complete the membership application online.

Communion
– 1 Corinthians 11:23-25 (NIV)
Jesus instituted a common practice for His followers that would remind them of who He is and what He has done. Paul speaks of this in the verses above. Remembering what Christ has done reminds us of his presence and brings it to life in us, encouraging us to live in the grace He has provided.
There are many different ways that communion is practiced in various churches and denominations. At Blackhawk we celebrate communion – sometimes called the Lord’s Supper – once a month during our regular worship services, and occasionally at special worship services. Anyone who has placed their faith in Christ alone for salvation is welcome to participate in communion, regardless of your church affiliation. As we participate, may we remember that true life is only found in Jesus.
