Welcome to
Blackhawk Kids
Helping kids take their next steps as they grow closer to God and others
Blackhawk Kids offers fun and relevant programming for kids, birth to sixth grade. Each Sunday we invite kids to learn about God in a way that’s just right for them.
WHAT TO EXPECT //
BABY
Birth to 18 Months
In this space, little ones are loved and cared for as we plant the seed of knowledge that they are beautiful creations of God.
TODDLER
18 Months to 2 Years
Through play, worship, and simple lessons, toddlers begin to understand: God made them, Jesus loves them, and the Bible is His special book.
WONDER
3-5 Years
Preschoolers and Kindergarteners continue building foundational truths through hands-on activities, worship, and Bible stories with their friend Ollie the Owl.
DISCOVER
First to Third Grade
Elementary students will explore truths like trusting God, making wise choices, and loving others. Worship, storytelling, and small groups help them engage faith in everyday life.
LAUNCH
Fourth to Sixth Grade
Fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students will dig deeper into what it means to follow God, how He cares for them, and how they can welcome others. Small groups, discussion, and hands-on activities help them own their faith..
CURRENT SERIES //
Unstoppable
Over the next 8 weeks, kids will dive into Bible stories that show us this powerful truth: when God has a plan, nothing can stop it. God’s plans are always good, and we want every child to know they can trust Him because He always keeps His promises.
RESOURCES & TOOLS //
BKids Connect
2nd Sunday of the Month, after each service | All Sites
On the second Sunday of each month, we gather for snacks, play, and conversation. It’s a way for families to connect with others at similar stages:
- September 14 | Baby & Toddler
(Families with Kids age 0-3) - October 12 | Wonder
(Families with Kids age 3-Kindergarten) - November 9 | Discover
(Families with Kids in Grades 1-3) - December 14 | Launch
(Families with Kids in Grade 4-6)
Talking About the Gospel
Talking about Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection may lead to some questions. This video and Gospel Resource Guide have some simple language to help you have that conversation.
Child Dedication
An opportunity for a parent to intentionally express their desire and commitment to raise their child to know and love God.
Invisible
Safety & Security
The safety and security of kids on Sundays is of the highest importance to our team.
-
- Families will use a secure three-part-nametag check in/check out system each week
- All Blackhawk Kids volunteers have an interview, background check, and reference checks prior to serving
- Volunteers and kids are never alone in a one-on-one setting
- Volunteers receive emergency preparedness training prior to serving
- Volunteers receive ongoing training opportunities specific to their role throughout the year
- Blackhawk Kids follows CDC guidelines for indoor youth settings (kids under age 12) and offers weekly videos online that align with Sunday programming content for those who are unable to attend in person.
Kids with Special Needs
Sunday Support
We want to help every kid take their next step in faith. If you think your child would benefit from additional help on Sundays or with help from a one-on-one volunteer includer during Blackhawk Kids programming, let’s start the conversation! Fill out this form and we will be in contact with next steps.
Food Allergies
Keeping kids safe is one of our highest priorities. All rooms are nut free and we are not offering food during kids programming at this time. However, we ask that you complete this form (one per child) with specific details we should know about your child’s food allergies so we can make sure your child is safe and our volunteers and staff are equipped each time he or she enters our rooms.
Purchase a Bible for your Child
Giving your child a Bible is a powerful gift. Our ministry gets great deals on the Bibles we use on Sundays, and we’d love to pass those prices on to you. Purchase a Bible online and pick it up on Sunday.
Talking About the Gospel
Check out our video and family guide resources for kids and their adults.
SERVE WITH BKIDS
BKids volunteers help create safe, welcoming spaces where kids from birth through 6th grade can learn about God and experience His love.
