SERVE //
Love Madison

Sunday, May 17, 2026

Every spring, we take one Sunday and go out together as one church into the Dane County community to serve alongside our neighbors, schools, and community partners. It’s a way to connect with people and show the love of Jesus through our actions.

Why do we do this?

We love our city. It’s a big part of who we are. Throughout the year, people at Blackhawk serve all over our community in all kinds of ways. Love Madison is the one day we do it together, all at once, across Dane County. It’s practical, it’s tangible, and it’s one of our favorite things we do as a church.

Why are some of the projects at for-profit businesses?

Most projects are with nonprofits, but some involve for-profit businesses or city partners. We believe that serving our community well, no matter who we’re working alongside, builds trust and opens doors to the gospel.

Can I bring my Kids?

Yes, many projects welcome families. Each project lists the minimum age set by the organization. Look for the “family friendly” tag when browsing projects.

Can my family, friends, or group sign up together?

Yes, one person can register everyone in your group. You’ll just need each person’s full name and email. Only register people who have confirmed they can make it. Unconfirmed spots prevent others who are ready and willing from serving.

A few things to keep in mind: each project has a set number of spots and a minimum age, both determined by the organization we’re serving. We honor those limits and can’t add spots or make exceptions, so check availability before you sign everyone up.

Can I invite friends that don't go to Blackhawk?

Anyone is welcome. We encourage you to invite neighbors, friends, and coworkers. Just make sure everyone registers.

What if the weather is bad?

There’s no rain date. If severe weather hits, your project captain will reach out. You can also check blackhawk.church for updates.
