In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the Asian American Ministry will be making and sharing some snacks in the Gospel Fusion Venue after services on May 4. Middle School Ministry Community Groups will celebrate the end of the ’24-’25 ministry year with a party at Garner Park in Middleton. All Middle School students are invited!

Blackhawk Church is hosting Alpha, an open and informal conversation exploring some of life’s most important questions about spirituality and the person of Jesus without judgement or pressure. Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, run over 6 weeks and meeting in person. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Everyone is welcome.

The 5th Grade Retreat is an overnight event for fifth grade students and their leaders on May 9-10, 2025 at Expeditions Unlimited. Students will join other students and leaders for a time of worship, discussion, games, and activities. We hope everyone will leave having connected with God and one another.

Join us as we spend a day taking a pause from the chaos and fast pace of life to slow down and spend intentional time in God’s presence.
Our time together will include worship, opportunities to connect with each other, and space to connect with God individually.
We will provide all the snacks and drinks plus plenty of tools, resources, and room to support your time away.

We will be gathering at Dottie’s Ranch in Oregon, WI (about 30 minutes away from Blackhawk). Space for this event is limited, but in order to make this opportunity available to as many young adults as possible we will be offering this day-away in two half-day sessions. Sign up to join us for either the morning session (8:00 am-12:00 pm) or afternoon session (1:00 pm-5:00 pm) and we will send you ideas on how to spend the other half of your day connecting with God.

Every spring we choose a time to go into the Dane County community to serve all together as a church community. We call this Love Madison. We want to connect with our neighbors and actively show people the love of Jesus through our actions! Throughout the year, people who attend Blackhawk Church are serving all over our community. But on this day, we want to serve on a grander scale by engaging the whole church in projects all over Dane County.

Projects include in-person outdoor and indoor projects with community organizations with tasks such as gardening or landscape clean-up, deep cleaning, sorting, administrative, and much more. We also have projects that can be done in whatever city you are in (check out our Serve Where You projects). There’s something for everyone. Registration opens on Sunday, April 21 and closes on Sunday, May 12. Sign up today

Cooking For Good – Blackhawk Downtown comes alongside our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness. Once a month, they will prepare a meal in the Upper House industrial kitchen that will be dropped off and served to guests at The Beacon.

The Beacon homeless day resource center provides community solutions to help men, women, and children who are experiencing homelessness in Dane County, Wisconsin. They are committed to providing services that address the causes of homelessness in an environment that allows people to feel welcome, safe, and respected. Guests have access to resources and professional staff to assist them with housing, employment, mental health, and substance abuse counseling; as well as services that help restore their dignity such as showers and laundry facilities.

Cooking For Good – Blackhawk Brader Way comes alongside our neighbors who have experienced and fled domestic abuse. Once a month, we prepare a meal in the Blackhawk Brader Way industrial kitchen that will be dropped off and served to guests at Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS).

Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS) works to make Dane County, WI, a safer, more just, more equitable place for people who have experienced domestic violence, their children, and the people who love them. They offer a wide array of crisis intervention and community education/prevention programs, including a 24-hour Help Line, programming for children from violent homes, legal advocacy, support groups, and emergency safety planning. DAIS is also the only domestic violence shelter in all of Dane County.

Craig is the Kenya Director of Creation Stewards International, with the goal of helping transform people to walk closer with Christ and towards a vision for creation care that embraces the fullness of the Gospel. They strive to see communities being transformed in all their relationships, starting with God and spreading into their relationships with other people and with the creation that surrounds them.

DAIS is also the only domestic violence shelter in all of Dane County.

Join our Blackhawk Fitchburg community for a summer picnic at McKee Farms Park. The event starts at 4:30 PM with food being served at 5:00 PM. Blackhawk will provide herb roasted and fried chicken as the main dish and ask attendees to bring sides to share. There will be lawn games, face painting, music, and an opportunity to connect with the Blackhawk Fitchburg community. Please note that there is limited seating at the picnic tables, so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chairs and/or picnic blankets.
