Blackhawk Kids
Helping kids take their next steps as they grow closer to God and others
Blackhawk Kids offers fun and relevant programming for kids, birth to sixth grade. Kids can have a great experience on Sundays as they learn more about God in a way that’s just right for them.

Baby

Birth to 18 Months

Blackhawk Babies will play and be loved and cared for as we plant the seed of knowledge that they are beautiful creations of God.

Toddler

18 Months to 2 Years

Blackhawk Toddlers will learn each week that God made them, Jesus loves them, and the Bible is God’s special book. Toddlers will learn more about God through play, hands-on activities, worship time, and simple Bible lessons.

Wonder

3-5 Years

These young Blackhawkers will learn each week that God made them, Jesus loves them, and the Bible is God’s special book. Preschoolers and Kindergarteners will learn more about God through play, hands-on activities, worship, and Bible lessons with their friend Ollie the Owl!

Discover

First to Third Grade

Elementary students can have a great experience on Sundays learning that they can trust God no matter what, they can make the wise choice, and they can treat others the way they want to be treated. Students will worship together, hear a Bible story, and connect in small groups to dig into the lesson for the day.

Launch

Fourth to Sixth Grade

Fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students can have a great experience on Sundays learning that God cares, they are made in the image of God, and He invites us to include one another. Through large group teaching, small group conversations, and fun hands-on activities, students will be encouraged to start making their faith their own.

Easter

Easter Reading Plan and Activitity Book

Help your kids walk through Jesus’ last week with an interactive telling of the Gospel. The reading plan starts Palm Sunday, March 29. Set aside a few minutes each day during Holy Week to read that day’s portion of the story and do some simple activities together. It’s a meaningful way to prepare your family’s hearts for Easter.

Maundy Thursday

Our Maundy Thursday service is centered on the Last Supper and the celebration of communion. At Blackhawk, if your child has placed their faith in Jesus and him alone, they are welcome to take communion.  We hope this guide helps your family talk through this meaningful step together.

Communion Family Guide >

Following the 6:30 pm service, BKids will host a reception at each site celebrating Launch students (4th-6th graders) taking communion for the first time. See more details below.

Thursday, April 2, After the 6:30 PM Service  | All Sites

Join us for Maundy Thursday Services, centered on the Last Supper and the celebration of communion together as a church community. All families are welcome, and we especially encourage families with 4th-6th graders to attend together. Following the 6:30 pm service, BKids will host a gathering to celebrate Launch students (4th-6th graders) who are taking communion for the first time, either that night or sometime in the past year. If that’s your child, stop by the reception area before the service to check in and receive a small gift.

Child Dedication Classes

Sunday, April 12, 10:45 AM | Brader Way
Sunday, April 19, 10:45 AM | Fitchburg

Child Dedication is a meaningful step where you commit to raising your child to know and love God and invite your community to be part of that journey. Services are held throughout the year at all Blackhawk locations, and our Child Dedication class is required before participating. The class connects you with other families, covers why we dedicate children, and walks you through writing a personal blessing to guide your parenting.

Safety & Security

The safety and security of kids on Sundays is of the highest importance to our team.

    • Families will use a secure three-part-nametag check in/check out system each week
    • All Blackhawk Kids volunteers have an interview, background check, and reference checks prior to serving
    • Volunteers and kids are never alone in a one-on-one setting
    • Volunteers receive emergency preparedness training prior to serving
    • Volunteers receive ongoing training opportunities specific to their role throughout the year
    • Blackhawk Kids follows CDC guidelines for indoor youth settings (kids under age 12) and offers weekly videos online that align with Sunday programming content for those who are unable to attend in person.
Kids with Special Needs

Sunday Support
We want to help every kid take their next step in faith. If you think your child would benefit from additional help on Sundays or with help from a one-on-one volunteer includer during Blackhawk Kids programming, let’s start the conversation! Fill out this form and we will be in contact with next steps.

Food Allergies
Keeping kids safe is one of our highest priorities. All rooms are nut free and we are not offering food during kids programming at this time. However, we ask that you complete this form (one per child) with specific details we should know about your child’s food allergies so we can make sure your child is safe and our volunteers and staff are equipped each time he or she enters our rooms.

Purchase a Bible for your Child

Giving your child a Bible is a powerful gift. Our ministry gets great deals on the Bibles we use on Sundays, and we’d love to pass those prices on to you. Purchase a Bible online and pick it up on Sunday.
