Collection & Use of Personal Information

When you use Blackhawk’s website and related tools, you may be asked to provide personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, home address, phone number, and demographic information.

The information you provide is used exclusively (a) to provide the service you requested, and (b) for other applicable ministry uses (e.g., communicating to you about other Blackhawk services/information, providing you access to privileged areas of the My Blackhawk online portal, evaluating and improving the services/information Blackhawk offers, collection of ministry involvement statistics, conducting surveys/research of your opinion/intentions for Blackhawk initiatives/events, etc.)

Collection & Use of Performance Information

There is information about your web browsing device that is automatically collected by Blackhawk. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access types, and referring website addresses. Also, Blackhawk tracks the pages users visit within Blackhawk’s website. This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general use statistics of the Blackhawk website and related tools.

Additionally, we can collect statistics on whether email messages were opened and whether links contained in email messages were clicked. These statistics are used to evaluate the effectiveness of our email communication.

Blackhawk may use a third-party service to collect aggregates of this information, but no personally identifiable information is passed to this third party.

Information Security

Blackhawk protects your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Blackhawk secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment. When personal information is transmitted to other websites (e.g., credit card numbers, online check account numbers), it is protected through industry standard encryption. Credit card and online check account information is not stored on Blackhawk’s servers. Credit card and online check account information that is needed for follow-up transactions (e.g., recurring online gifts) is stored on a highly secured third-party server.

Blackhawk does not sell, rent, or lease your information to third parties. Blackhawk may share data with trusted partners to help us accomplish ministry tasks (e.g., perform statistical analysis, send electronic church communications, accomplish ministry responsibilities/tasks via trusted volunteers). All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to Blackhawk, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

If you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive information through public message boards (e.g., Blackhawk Church social media pages and online church chat), this information may be collected and used by others.

Blackhawk is not responsible for the privacy statements of websites outside of the Blackhawk website and related tools.

Blackhawk will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the law or legal process served on Blackhawk; (b) protect and defend the rights and property of Blackhawk; and (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users, Blackhawk or the public.
