Tech
At Blackhawk, we desire to see more and more people experience the transforming power of Jesus through our Sunday worship services. When Blackhawk Brader Way was completed in November 2007, we never imagined what we now do on a weekly basis: broadcast our Sunday services online and to multiple sites, leverage the online service as a new “front door,” and hold services in multiple languages. Blackhawk Brader Way’s original technology was not designed with today’s reality in mind. So now, 16 years later, we are responding to what God is doing through our in-person and online worship services by investing in the tools that support our mission of “building a community to reach a community.”
Why Should I Give?
Our goals are to improve the online and in-person experience through enhancements, including better broadcast systems, camera equipment, technology infrastructure, lighting, security cameras, and tools for language translation and for those impacted by hearing loss.
Our target is to raise $3.5 million by June 2025.

Have we been upgrading tech each year within our normal budget?
Each year in our budget we allocate asset improvement dollars to fund basic technology maintenance and updates. This investment happens through General Fund giving, which has allowed us to accomplish a lot since the Brader Way building opened in 2007. However, we feel a more comprehensive tech upgrade is needed to set us up well for the future, which will exceed what our annual budget could handle.
How long will this investment serve us?
With how quickly things change in today’s world, we are seeing this as an investment that sets us up well for the next 10 years or so. We know that various technologies and equipment have different life spans – some may far exceed 10 years while others likely will not. So, each year we will continue making asset improvements within our annual budget where needed to maximize the investment we’re making with Project Tech. But as ministry and technology change, there may be another day when a comprehensive update is required.
(Think of it like a vehicle: you can maintain a vehicle to keep it running reliably for years. But eventually, you get to a point where the fixes become too expensive, or the vehicle has become unreliable enough that you need to replace it.)
